We finally got a chance to meet our new students, and we have to admit....we still get just as excited as they do! It has been so much fun this week with getting to know each other and setting up our routines and procedures. The week zoomed by so fast, yet we still managed to share our experiences, make new friends, laugh, and of course.....learn together! We look forward to the rest of our year together. We're off to a great start!

In math we are studying place value. In their interactive math journals, the kids created a place value chart to help them build and read numbers to the hundred thousands.

In writing, we are reviewing the rules of capitalization and writing about personal experiences.

In reading, we are studying the elements of fiction. As a class, we read Edwina by Mo Willems. Then we worked together to identify the story elements and discussed the importance of each element to the story.
